5 Teens Charged in Boy's Beating Posted to Snapchat

Five teenagers are charged with assaulting a 13-year-old Massachusetts boy in a video that was put on social media.

Three boys and two girls are accused of attacking the victim. The video, posted to Snapchat, purportedly shows the teens talking when, all of the sudden, one of them pushes and tackles the boy to the ground.

The teenagers then start kicking him as he yells for his mom. The alleged assault happened outside of the boy's own home.

"I saw it and I could see how he was calling my name, Mom, so I broke down and started crying," said the victim's mother, Mireille Tushiminina.

She believes her son was attacked because he is black, saying her son had received several racist text messages before the incident.

"Right now, when you look at the whole thing that transpired, it's all about bullying," Tushiminina added. "All we can do is raise awareness about bullying. About the rights of minority kids. That all our lives matter."

Braintree Police have since filed a criminal complaint with juvenile court. The five teenagers accused in the attack are now facing charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
