Police say an 82-year-old southern Maine woman was severely injured when she was struck by a vehicle while walking near the Portland police station.
The Portland Press Herald reports the Falmouth woman, who wasn't identified, was hit by a 2004 Hyundai around 5:20 p.m. Thursday as she walking in the area of the police precinct on Middle Street.
The woman was transported to Maine Medical Center for treatment. Her condition is unknown.
Police say it was raining at the time of the crash and visibility was poor.
The 36-year-old driver was not charged in the incident.
