A 9-year-old girl was shot in the face with a BB gun in New Ipswich, New Hampshire, Tuesday, police confirm.
Police say the girl was a passenger in the backseat of a vehicle around noon. The driver heard what sounded like a BB Gun go off and the girl said her face hurt.
The driver checked and saw the girl was struck just below her left eye.
She was brought to Manananock Regional Hospital, where the BB was found to still be in her skin.
She was then transported to a Boston hospital, where the BB was removed around 3 a.m. Wednesday. She is expected to make a full recovery.
Police do no know if the shooting was an accident or intentional. They have a person of interest, but have no arrests have been made.
The incident remains under investigation.
