    Authorities are investigating how an abandoned building in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood partially collapsed Monday morning.

    Authorities are investigating how an abandoned building in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood partially collapsed Monday morning.

    Firefighters responded to 208 Columbia Road at about 10:12 a.m. where the partial collapse had been reported at the former laundromat.

    Fire officials said no injuries were reported but the buildings attached were evacuated as a safety precaution.

    Motorists were told to avoid the area while Boston's Inspectional Services Department and National Grid was on scene assessing the situation.

Officers removed a 10-month-old child from the vehicle but left the 4-year-old girl, who spent the night in the tow lot where temperatures dropped to 19 degrees.
