DA: Man Killed in Police-Involved Shooting in Braintree, Mass.

Officers were told a man in his 40s showed a knife before leaving the home

The Norfolk District Attorney's Office says a man is dead after he was shot by police in Braintree, Massachusetts, early Thursday morning.

Police responded to a home on Liberty Street near the intersection of East Division Street around 1:20 a.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance.

Officers were told a man, identified as Robert Dussourd, 44, showed a knife before leaving the home.

Police responded and initial investigation shows Dussourd, who was hiding under a vehicle, came out brandishing a knife.

Officers attempted to subdue Dussourd with a bean-bag gun. When he continued to wield the knife, he was shot by police.

He was transported to South Shore Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
