Ad Promoting New Hampshire City Shows Images From Europe

A new bus ad promoting the city of Concord, New Hampshire, actually takes a detour through Europe.

The ad wrapped around a Concord Coach bus that travels between Concord and Boston says, "Concord, N.H.: Connect. Create. Celebrate" to promote the May 6 Capital Arts Fest.

The Concord Monitor reports two ad photos show the Merrimack River and a local clock tower. But an image of people on a hillside is from Prague; one of a painter is from Venice, Italy.

Festival organizers didn't know the origin of those photos, which were chosen by a volunteer from a stock photo service. Chamber of Commerce President Tim Sink says, "maybe we didn't ask all the right questions, and we moved quickly."

Concord Coach paid for the ad. President Ben Blunt said, "I think you can get your message across," whether a Concord craftsman's on the bus, or not.
