Amtrak Cancels 4 NY-Boston Trains in Winter Storm

Amtrak has canceled four trains operating between New York and Boston during the winter storm

Amtrak has canceled four trains operating between New York and Boston during the winter storm. However, it said passengers were accommodated on other, closely scheduled trains.

A spokeswoman said the cancellations affected Acela Express and Northeast Regional service operating in both directions Monday between Boston and New York.

The rail service says it will re-evaluate plans as conditions warrant.

Diesel locomotives and on-track maintenance equipment are placed in designated locations along the Northeast Corridor where downed trees or limbs disable the overhead electrical system.

Tree-trimming crews are on hand to respond to reports of trees or limbs down along the right of way.

Passengers are urged confirm their train's status, change their plans or review refund information.
