Andover Police on Alert After Baby Found Dead at Conn. Recycling Center

Police in Andover, Massachusetts, are on alert after the body of a baby boy was found at a recycling center in Stamford, Connecticut.

The body was discovered Tuesday morning at City Carting and Recycling. Andover is one of five communities from which companies dropped off materials that day. The others include Stamford and Greenwich in Connecticut, as well as Somers and Oyster Bay in New York.

Police said workers at the facility, located at 61 Taylor Reed Place, found the body of a full-term newborn baby boy at 8:40 a.m. as they were working on recycling and immediately notified authorities.

Stamford Police responded to the scene. They said because the company is a regional organization, it will take time to determine which community the baby came from.

NBC10 Boston reached out to Andover Police Tuesday. They did not comment, but they said a lieutenant would be available to speak on the subject Wednesday.
