The owner of a proposed marijuana dispensary in Lynn, Massachusetts, says his unopened business was targeted with anti-Semitic graffiti and racist imagery.

Jordan Avery, 25, is planning to open a marijuana dispensary in Lynn, near the Saugus line. He said he went into the shop to find graffiti reading "[expletive] the Jews," along with a noose and a large knife.

"It's very upsetting to see this type of hatred take place," Avery said. "They hung up a rope with a noose towards the end of it with a knife going through with a chair sitting below it."

The proposed pot shop has been met with widespread opposition. Most of it, Avery says, is from Saugus.

Despite the backlash he's dealt with, he says he's motivated to press forward.

"This is not going to stop me. And I am not going to allow racist individuals, the town of Saugus or anyone to stop me," Avery said.

The Lynn Police Department is investigating the act of vandalism as a hate crime.
