Wednesday started sunny for many, but an approaching disturbance coupled with a warm front delivers clouds and scattered, mostly light showers during the afternoon and evening.

Many outdoor games and plans may go forward, as long as some occasional light rain won't ruin them. Some heavier downpours and even a rumble of thunder may mix in for northern New England during the late day and evening.

The highest chance for a heavier burst of rain like a downpour or rumble of thunder in southern New England actually comes around midnight, as the heart of the instigating upper-level disturbance marches through.

Behind this disturbance, expect drier air to stream in on an active westerly wind Thursday when most of New England will be mild but the North Country sees cool showers as cool as the 40s in northern Maine!

Friday brings a pleasant and increasingly dry air to our region after possible early morning clouds and sprinkles depart, and this sets us up for the second magnificent weekend in a row across New England.

An absence of humidity for most of the weekend will make the weather comfortable, even as temperatures rise into the 80s. By Monday, humidity builds and a chance of scattered thunder enters the forecast as highs reach 90 degrees and the Early Warning Weather exclusive 10-day forecast shows a summery feeling, even if not quite as warm, sticking around for most of next week with some occasional showers.
