Arrest Made in Connection to Fourth of July Shooting in Boston's Roxbury Neighborhood

Massachusetts police have made an arrest in Worcester in connection with a shooting that occurred in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood on the Fourth of July.

Jyarie Shoulders, 21, of Dorchester, was arrested on Thursday and charged with multiple counts of assault and battery to wit a firearm.

Members of the Youth Violence Strike Force, along with members of the Worcester Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, executed a search warrant in the area of 134 Eastern Ave.

The warrant had been obtained after a shooting took place around 6:45 p.m. on July 4 in Roxbury, an incident which left three people suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

The three victims were transported to area hospitals, while a fourth victim went to the hospital on his own.

No arraignment date has yet been set for Shoulders, who was booked and held at the Worcester Police Department.
