Suspect faces manslaughter and felony riot charges

A New Hampshire man is facing a manslaughter charge in connection with the beating death of a man outside a Rochester Sports bar.

Rochester police say 41-year-old Eric Langlais of Barnstead turned himself in Friday afternoon. He faces manslaughter and a felony riot charges in the beating of 44-year-old James Unfonak of Rochester in the early morning hours of Jan. 31 outside Gary's Sports Bar.

Unfonak was taken to Maine Medical Center, where he died of his injuries. Autopsy results show he died of blunt force head injuries.

Authorities say Langlais is being held at the Strafford County Jail on $25,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at Strafford County Superior Court. It was not immediately known if he has a lawyer.
