Police have obtained arrest warrants for two suspects in connection with a shooting outside a Newport, Rhode Island, apartment complex last week.
Investigators say a 25-year-old New Bedford, Massachusetts, man was hit outside a building at the Festival Field complex by birdshot from a shotgun blast at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Sgt. Kevin Moreira tells The Newport Daily News the victim is a frequent visitor to the complex.
By the time police responded, both the victim and shooter were gone. But police later received information that a man had shown up at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts, with gunshot-related injuries described as minor.
No names were released.
