Back in the kitchen, Peggy Warren was hard at work, mixing up her secret, and famous, lobster salad.
"People love it, it is our best seller," Warren said.
Warren and her husband own Four Seas Ice Cream in Centerville, Massachusetts and have been gearing up for the rush that always comes with Memorial Day weekend.
"It is always a good time, we have lines down to the second parking lot, it is always go, go, go," she said. It's fun."
All over the Cape on Friday, businesses were gearing up.
"The weather doesn't feel like it is the beginning of the unofficial beginning of summer but I think by tomorrow I think we will be in full swing," Wayne Lamson, General Manager of the Steamship Authority, said. "We are expecting a very busy weekend."
"This is something we look forward to every year, we gear the whole year around this having to get the vessels in good shape," he said.

That's good news for all those who rely on these months to make the bulk of their money.
"The feeling is very happy, optimistic; we are just excited that summer is on its way," Wendy Northcross with the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce said. "We are hearing strong indicators for a good summer, the economy in Mass. is cooking right along, the unemployment rate is very low, so people will have work."
Among those visiting on Friday is Robin McGuinness, who traveled from Australia.
"You have the most fantastic lobster, we have had lobster rolls for lunch, lobster for dinner. We have eaten more lobster than you can imagine," she said. "It is magnificent."
