Assault Suspect Arrested After 3-Hour Search

Robert Brown is facing charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a household member, and resisting arrest

An Attleboro, Massachusetts, man was taken into custody by police Tuesday night after a three-hour search of the woods near his home on Hackett Ave.

Attleboro Police tell NBC 10 that 39-year-old Robert Brown is facing charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a household member, and resisting arrest.

Neighbors tell NBC 10 there had been an altercation involving a baseball bat outside the home.

Neighbor Arnie Beauregard saw it unfold around 3 o'clock. “They were messing around with a baseball bat. They were wrestling in the driveway. It happened quick. I was in the house. By the time I got outside, the cops were already here,” Beauregard told NBC 10.

Another neighbor told NBC 10 that Brown's wife said she had been hit in the head with the bat.

Police then searched for Brown using a state police helicopter and K-9s.

Brown was found in the woods near the street next to his.

He is due in Attleboro district court Wednesday.
