Authorities Discuss Drug Ring Bust

14 people face charges in connection with ring that distributed cocaine, heroin

Authorities are holding a news conference in Lewiston, Maine, to discuss charges against 14 people in connection with a drug ring bust distributing cocaine and heroin in the area.

U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II, Lewiston Police Chief Michael Bussiere and Androscoggin County District Attorney Andrew Robinson are scheduled to discuss the arrests at Lewiston Police Department at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police arrested three men last month, including 29-year-old Tasheem Carter, 28-year-old Michael Boney and 31-year-old Christian Dent. They're charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs. The other 11 men and women were arrested Friday on a variety of drug charges.

Officials say Carter, Dent and Boney lived in the Lewiston area and in Far Rockaway, New York. It was unknown if they have lawyers.
