Bail Reduced for Mom Facing Drug Charges After Baby's Death

The child was found unresponsive at a camper

A New Hampshire mother facing drug possession charges after her infant son was found unresponsive at a camper and later died will be released from jail.

The Concord Monitor (http://bit.ly/2aWIoBo ) reports that a judge on Monday reduced Kayla Austin's bail to $50,000 personal recognizance on the condition that Austin receive pretrial services, which could include drug tests, home visits, and others. Bail for the infant's father remains unchanged.

Concord police are investigating the death of the 2-month-old, who authorities say wasn't breathing when officers arrived at the camper last week. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Autopsy results haven't been released and no arrests have been made.

At the property, police say officers found packages of methamphetamine and receipts and ledgers suggesting the drugs were meant for sale.
