Bicyclist Killed in Collision With Vehicle in Charlestown, New Hampshire

Police say it does not appear that any criminal charges will be filed

A bicyclist was killed Monday afternoon in a collision with a vehicle in Charlestown, New Hampshire, according to state police.

Authorities said the bicyclist, identified as Lance Torrey, 50, of Charlestown, was traveling north on Route 12 in the breakdown lane when he somehow veered into the travel lane and into the path of an Acura Integra.

Torrey was transported to Springfield Hospital in Vermont where he was pronounced dead.

Traffic on Route 12 was closed for four hours while police cleared the scene.

The incident remains under investigation but police said speed and alcohol did not appear to be factors and it does not appear that any criminal charges will be filed.
