Bicyclist Struck, Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver

Police believe there will be significant damage to the front of the vehicle, including a missing headlight.

A New Hampshire man was killed early Thursday morning after being hit by a vehicle.

After receiving a report, Rochester Police along with State Police responded to the area of Route 11/Farmington Rd. and the on-ramp to Route 16 South.

The victim, identified as Jeffrey Howarth, 51, of Rochester, was found deceased on the shoulder beside the guardrail with his damaged bicycle not far from him.

There was damage from the vehicle that struck him (and left the scene) scattered along the ramp.

Police were able to locate a green 1998 Dodge 1500 pickup, which is believed to have struck Howarth. Police have impounded the vehicle as part of the investigation.
