Black Ice, Crashes Reported Across Southern New England

Black ice has been reported on I-495 and Route 128 north of Boston

Several crashes have been reported across southern New England following a round of snow in the area and cold air contributing to slick roads.

Black ice has been reported on I-495 and Route 128 north of Boston.

A serious crash happened on Route 2 eastbound at Route 128 in Lexington in which several vehicles were involved and one was demolished. There is no word on injuries.

Another crash involving four vehicles happened inside the O'Neill Tunnel on I-93 southbound around 8:45 a.m.

I-95 was closed in New London, Connecticut near the Gold Star Bridge after several crashes. Both sides of the bridge were closed as of 7 a.m.

I-84 westbound was closed in Southington due to crashes but has since reopened.
