A Blackstone, Massachusetts teen is facing multiple charges for allegedly shooting and killing a neighbor's pet cat with an arrow.

Blackstone Police say a 17-year-old boy shot the cat on Aug. 1 while it was walking outside on Old Mendon Street.

Owners Ingersoll and Braylin Allen said when their 8-year-old cat Lilly came inside their home around 6:30 p.m., they realized something was very wrong.

"I opened the slide door and he was walking up the steps and I heard something hitting the steps," Ingersoll Allen said.

After calling police, officers determined the cat had been shot by a foot-long arrow.

"Through a rib, through maybe his stomach or lung and it went out the other side, so it was a full puncture, it was in him," Ingersoll Allen said.

Despite rushing the cat to Tufts Animal Hospital in Grafton, Lilly had to be euthanized.

Police say they received several tips from are residents after they put out a call for a $500 reward.

Authorities did not release the name of the teen, but said he lived nearby. When they searched his home, they allegedly found several arrows matching the one that killed the cat.

The teen is facing multiple firearm-related charges, as well as charges involving killing an animal, and damaging personal property.
