Worcester, Massachusetts, police are investigating after a body was found inside a burned car parked in a cemetery Tuesday morning.
Officials responded to Hope Cemetery around 8:30 a.m. and found a sedan engulfed in flames, according to city officials. The body was found inside the vehicle after the fire was extinguished.
Crews set up a tent up over the vehicle, which appeared to have significant burns to the trunk area. Investigators spent a great deal of time taking photos around the trunk.
It is not known at this time whether the body found inside is a man or woman. Officials have not identified the body.
John Dirsa, whose son is buried at the cemetery, said the incident isn't something someone would expect at a cemetery.
"Today, with the way the forensics are and stuff, I can't imagine whoever did this will get away with it," he said.
Police say they know who owns the car involved in the crime.
