A body found in the stairwell of an apartment building in Providence on Friday has been identified as a North Providence woman who was reported missing.
Rhode Island state police say that the body of 61-year-old Judith O'Brien, who was reported missing on Aug. 15, was found in the stairwell at 1245 Smith St, according to WJAR.
She was last seen in the area of Greenwood Credit Union in Warwick after leaving her home in North Providence on Aug. 3
The cause of death has not been released and police say the autopsy results are pending.
The Providence Journal reports that a man named John Seal has been charged with failure to report a death in connection with the discovery.
