A boil-water order continues in the Vermont town of Fair Haven after tests last week showed the drinking water was contaminated with bacteria.

Town officials said Tuesday they are awaiting the results of tests taken Sunday and Monday to see if the water is clean.

The town was ordered to boil its water on Sept. 25 after coliform bacteria was found in the water system.

Town officials say tests on Friday showed the water was clean but they are awaiting the results of more recent tests to see if the boil water order can be lifted. Results could be available by Tuesday afternoon.
