Boston Children's Named Country's Top Pediatric Center

It's the sixth-straight year the hospital has received the honor

For the sixth year in a row, Boston Children's Hospital has been named the best pediatric care center in the country by the U.S. News and World Report.

The hospital beat out Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Texas Children's Hospital and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center for the top spot.

The rankings highlight 10 pediatric specialties: cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology; gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, neonatology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology and lung surgery and urology.

North Carolina-based research and consulting firm RTI International collected and analyzed data from children’s hospitals and surveyed pediatric specialists. More than 100 medical directors, pediatric specialists and other experts provided input.

Additionally, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Boston Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center was named the top pediatric cancer center in the country.
