At least 15 people were displaced Sunday when a 3-alarm fire broke out in East Boston.
The Boston Fire Department responded at 12:40 p.m. to a three-decker located at 360 Meridian St.
Upon arrival, smoke was showing from the third floor of the wood frame home.
The fire in the top floor ceiling had extended through the roof, according to fire officials.
There are no reports of injuries at this time. Initial damage reports were estimated at approximately $500,000, according to a Boston Fire Department tweet.
Fire officials say 15-20 people were displaced by the fire.
A cat was found safe in the building, shown in a photograph with firefighter David McSweeney. The department tweeted that the pet would be reunited with its owner.
No further information was immediately available.
