The Boston City Council is trying to make it easier for you to find a place to park when you come to town, but it may end up costing you more than before.
"This is the issue," said City Councilman Bill Linehan. "It's transportation and it's going to bump into everything else we do."
In a Tuesday night city council hearing, the city's chief of streets said they are looking at how "small adjustments" to the parking meter rate would increase availability of spots. It's one of a few projects that would rework the city's limited curb space.
There is no word on how much the rate could be raised.
"What they should do is if they raise the rates, have that money go to the T to fix the problem and then it will balance itself out," said Philip Michelson of Brookline.
Right now, meters are active Monday through Saturday from 8am to 8pm.
It costs $1.25 an hour with a two-hour limit.

Another issue on the city's radar is fake handicapped placards.
One councilor said people are using them instead of the meters, costing the city big money.
