Boston Police Arrest Man Wanted in Connection With Two Rapes

A man wanted in connection with two separate rapes in Boston was arrested Tuesday.

Police say Joseph Losano, 51, of Swampscott, was arrested and charged with two counts of rape involving two different victims.

The suspect was located and apprehended by investigators from the Boston Police Department's sexual assault unit and members of the BPD's fugitive apprehension team, along with assistance from Peabody and Swampscott police.

Losano is accused of taking victims into his vehicle and later sexually assaulting them at gunpoint.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on Wednesday. It's unclear if he has an attorney.

The investigation remains active, and the BPD sexual assault unit encourages anyone who may have been a victim of Losano's to call 617-343-4400. Anyone who would like to remain anonymous can call the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS or by texting the word ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463).
