    Boston Police Arrest Man Wanted in Connection With Two Rapes

    A man wanted in connection with two separate rapes in Boston was arrested Tuesday.

    Police say Joseph Losano, 51, of Swampscott, was arrested and charged with two counts of rape involving two different victims.

    The suspect was located and apprehended by investigators from the Boston Police Department's sexual assault unit and members of the BPD's fugitive apprehension team, along with assistance from Peabody and Swampscott police.

    Losano is accused of taking victims into his vehicle and later sexually assaulting them at gunpoint.

    Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein surrendered to police in a watershed moment for the #MeToo movement early Friday morning. Weinstein was charged with rape, criminal sex act and other sex crimes connected to cases involving two separate women.

    He is scheduled to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on Wednesday. It's unclear if he has an attorney.

    The BPD also encourages sexual assault victims to contact the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center at 1 (800) 841-8371. The BARCC provides free and confidential counseling, case management, legal and medical advocacy services to survivors in the greater Boston area.
