Boston Police Officers Recover Loaded Firearm During Investigation

Boston police officers say they recovered a loaded firearm and subsequently arrested a suspect during an investigation in the city's Roxbury neighborhood.

According to police, officers arrested Nahki Silcott, 21, of Dorchester during an investigation in the area of Quincy and Dacia Streets in Roxbury on Saturday afternoon.

Officers put Silcott in custody after a brief pursuit. The officers then safely recovered a .22 caliber Rohm RG10 revolver with a defaced serial number.

The firearm had been discarded as Silcott fled, police said.

Silcott will appear in Roxbury District Court.

He is facing numerous charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm.

It is unclear if he has an attorney.
