Boston Public Schools Student Competes in Scripps National Spelling Bee

A 4th grade student at a Boston public school is competing in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.

The student, Farah Raslan Haniff, attends the Winship Elementary School in Brighton.

Farah correctly spelled the word "stentorophonic" in Round 2 and went on along with 258 other spellers to Round 3.

Farah won the 10th annual Boston Center for Youth and Families Citywide Spelling Bee in March.

The champion of the national spelling bee will win $40,000 and an appearance on "Live with Kelly and Ryan."
