Boston Revels in the Royal Wedding

For the royal wedding in Windsor, there was a party in New England.

Boston's Fairmont Copley Plaza hosted nearly 300 guests Saturday morning, for what was the city's largest royal wedding watch party.

"I think people are just really happy for [Harry and Meghan] and you can feel that vibe in the room," said guest Lindsay Jackson.

"We grew up with [the Royal family]," she said. "Their pain has been our pain and their joys have been our joys. It feels like they're an extended family."

Guests enjoyed a British breakfast with bangers, scones and tea. A lemon and elderflower cake, just like the dessert for the Royal Wedding was served.

"I'm just excited because I love weddings," said 10-year-old Emme Cunning.

Women wore their best spring colors and fascinators, and hotel staff dressed as Queen's Guards.

"People love royalty no matter where they live," said Lauren Soriano, public relations director for the Fairmont Copley Plaza.

It was the first time the hotel hosted a watch party for a royal wedding, and tickets sold out quickly.

"Any wedding of this magnitude happens, people want to make sure they are there in real time, watching it, and have a story to tell for years to come," said Soriano.

The crowd audibly gasped when Meghan Markle walked down the aisle and murmured "aw" when the screen cut to Prince Harry. A champagne toast followed the ceremony, and one lucky guest won a trip to London.
