Fourteen young Boston men were arrested in Walpole on Sunday evening for recklessly driving their bikes.
The group of men reportedly practice riding their dirt bikes and ATV's in Walpole, where they allegedly speed and weave through through traffic. Boston and Walpole police teamed up to crack down on the issue.
"We found out that they were mostly practicing here in Walpole on Renmar Ave. We also have had to deal with them multiple times. We've had upwards of 200 people on Renmar Ave," said Chief John Carmichael of Walpole Police.
The bikers who were arrested face a range of charges from disorderly conduct to trespassing. Police also seized approximately 11 dirtbikes and a few ATV's as well. Carmichael said he hopes this sends a message and keeps streets safer.
Boston residents on Blue Hill Avenue said they're sick of the noise and the possible accidents.
"They do it pretty much anytime...They have the bikes pulled up and it's pretty dangerous, not only for them, but for the traffic in general," said Lela Roseboro of Mattapan.
Boston Police said they still need help to continue this crackdown. Anyone who sees people operating these bikes recklessly is encouraged to call their tip line at 1-800-494-TIPS.
