Boston Yeti Pays a Visit to MSPCA-Nevins Farm

The abominable snowman stopped by to raise awareness about the agency's Buy a Bale program

It’s Yeti, set, go for the horses and other animals at the MSPCA-Nevins Farm in Methuen, Massachusetts, following a visit on Saturday from the Boston Yeti, who migrated all the way from Somerville to meet with furry friends on the farm.

The yeti visited Nevins Farm to cast a spotlight on the Nevins Buy a Bale program, which for as little as $7 can buy a bale of hay to help feed the nearly 50 horses, goats, guinea pigs and rabbits at the farm.

Sporting his woolly white winter coat, the yeti bonded with animals large and small. He led horses out to pasture, test drove the vehicles that keep the farm on the go and distributed lots of hay to horses eager to chow down.

Nevins Farm spends almost $60,000 on hay every year to feed the animals in its care, an average of 60 to 80 horses annually, some of whom will be in its care for months or even years before finding permanent homes.

Anyone interested in supporting the Nevins Buy a Bale program can make a one-time donation to buy one or more bales, or sign up as an ongoing supporter of the program. The donation form can also be downloaded and mailed directly to MSPCA Equine & Farm Animal Center Buy a Bale Program, 400 Broadway, Methuen, Mass. 01844.
