Car Crashes Into Bourne Post Office Second Time in 6 Months

Seventy-nine-year-old driver to be charged with operating to endanger

A car crashed into the Bourne, Massachusetts post office for the second time in about six months, police told WJAR-TV.

In the most recent incident, an elderly man is facing charges after police say he crashed his convertible into the post office on Monday afternoon.

Police responded to the post office on Main Street at 12:40 p.m. after receiving a 911 call.

When officers arrived, a red Toyota Camry convertible was halfway inside the building in the lobby area.

Authorities determined that the 79-year-old driver had accelerated out of control while pulling into a parking space and jumped a curb — crashing into the building.

No injuries were reported and no customers were inside the lobby at the time.

Police said the driver, who has not been identified, will be charged with operating to endanger. Authorities also submitted an "immediate threat" to the Massachusets RMV.
