Vernon Man Killed in Crash on I-384 Ramp to I-84 East

The I-384 ramp to I-84 East is closed in Manchester.

A 53-year-old man died Monday morning after losing control of the rental truck he was driving and crashing into a tree near the ramp from Interstate 384 eastbound to Interstate 84 in Manchester.

Police said Gregory Hamilton, of Vernon, was driving a Penske box truck on the ramp to I-84 eastbound when his truck veered off the left side of the road and onto the grassy shoulder around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Hamilton then drove into a tree, according to police.

The front of the rental truck sustained heavy damage and was towed from the highway. Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene.

The highway was closed Wednesday morning near the East Hartford town line.
