    Child Approached by Suspicious Person in Merrimac, Mass.

    An investigation is underway after a child was approached by a suspicious person while walking home from his bus stop in Merrimac, Massachusetts on Thursday.

    Police said the 14-year-old male student was walking home on West Main Street in Merrimac when a man pulled over alongside him near the corner of Winter and Pine streets to offer him a ride. The boy refused and the vehicle drove away.

    The boy told police the man was in his 50s, clean shaven, with shoulder length, graying hair. The boy also said the man was missing some teeth.

    The man was driving a white Honda SUV with either Massachusetts or New Hampshire plates and a sticker on the left side of the rear window.
