OFFICER

Boy, 3, Meets Police Officer Over Lunch in Cohasset

Police in Cohasset, Massachusetts, recently received a very thankful email from a local mom who had nothing but great things to say about Officer Jay St. Ives.

The mom and her 3-year-old son John were eating lunch at Chasset House of Pizza Saturday afternoon when St. Ives walked in.

"John, my son was ecstatic when he saw him walk in. He was quick to run over and ask him all kinds of questions," the mom wrote.

She went on to mention how the officer not only answered John's questions, but also "talked to him with such kindness."

"We all sat down in separate seats and my son wanted nothing to do with sitting with me. So he brought his food over to the table with your officer to 'have lunch with the police man.' He was so welcoming to John and talked to him for their entire lunch (even tied his shoes for him)! I wish I got his name- because he should be thanked again. It totally made John's day! He hasn't stopped telling everyone about it. With a lot of bad going around in the world I feel it's important to mention positive times like these. Thank you again!"

When the Cohasset Police Chief showed the email to St. Ives, he responded, "Good times! Spent an hour with my new buddy! It was fun. Thanks Chief!"

The officer went on to mention how John's favorite color is red, his favorite superhero is Spider-man, and how he loves French Fries.

"He was going to a fair in Hull today and asked if I would come in the Jumpy House with him," St. Ives said."He wants to meet with me next Saturday and would like to go in my police car- cute kid!"

St. Ives even went on to mention how John was quick to grab what he wanted during lunch.

"Little bugger's hands are quick! He stole my chips after he finished his own bag," he said.
