High pressure pushing in from Canada is the reason for a gusty northeast 15-30 mph wind from Boston to Cape Cod early this morning.

It's a chilly air mass with temperatures starting near freezing in northern Maine, to near 60 at the south coast.

High pressure keeps us bright and dry throughout the day with temperatures rebounding into the mid-60s well away from the coast, as clouds return this afternoon. That same old weather front to the south comes back northward tonight with a chance of rain developing in Connecticut before dawn tomorrow.

Rain advances north and east during the day, getting into all but eastern Maine by late afternoon.

With the wind coming from the east off the ocean and gusting past 25 mph, it's a chilly wet day with a high temperature in the 40s north and 50s south.

A warm front goes by at night with rain tapering to showers and patchy dense fog and drizzle. Sunday starts off gray, but we are on the warmer side of the front and temperatures may spike back into the 70s with a few breaks of sunshine during the afternoon.

There is still a chance for a few showers on Sunday but it's a much nicer day.

It looks warm and dry and to start the week on Monday with a high temperature in the 70s to 80 degrees.

Tuesday looks like a dry day, but another front from the west may bring rain back Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Rainfall amounts in excess of an inch and a half are possible next Saturday into early Sunday, with another half inch or so the middle and second half of next week.
