Brother of Brighton Murder Victim Calls for Killer to Come Forward

As the investigation into a double murder over the weekend continues, the family of one victim is urging his killer to come forward.

It’s been three days since Eric Montaque's brother, Jeff, was shot and killed in the area of Faneuil and Brackett streets in Brighton, Massachusetts.

“I haven't slept at all,” said Montaque. “My mind, my soul won't let me sleep.”

Police discovered the bodies of 27-year-old Jeff Montaque and 26-year-old Wilfred Peters around 12:41 a.m. Saturday.

"(Jeff) was a victim of the street violence and he wasn't even a part of the street violence,” Eric Montaque said. “He was in no gangs. He just worked hard, traveled and that's it."

Jeff was a maintenance worker who lived in Cambridge and was on the job every day. Now, since his death, his brother is asking why.

"Show your face,” said Eric Montaque. “Show your face cause I miss my big bro and if you have the guts to pull the trigger, you should be man enough to admit your wrongdoings, cause that's my big brother and I love him.”

It’s not clear if Boston police have any suspects or a motive in the shooting.
