Brissett? Garoppolo? Who Will Start for the Patriots?

The only thing we know for sure is it won't be Tom Brady

UPDATE: NFL.com is now reporting that Jacoby Brissett will start at quarterback for the New England Patriots on Thursday night. There are conflicting reports as to whether Jimmy Garoppolo will dress as Brissett's backup.

An earlier story follows:

The New England Patriots will look to improve to 3-0 on Thursday night as they host the Houston Texans.

But will the injured Jimmy Garoppolo be starting at quarterback for the Pats? Or will it be rookie third stringer Jacoby Brissett?

Garoppolo is listed as doubtful for Thursday's game, meaning there's about a 75 percent chance he won't play. He is continuing to recover from the right shoulder injury he suffered during Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.

If Brissett gets the start, wide receiver Julian Edelman is expected to be the backup quarterback.

Tom Brady is still serving a 4-game suspension related to his role in the "Deflategate" controversy.

In the meantime, those heading to the game should expect heightened security following last weekend's events in New York and New Jersey.
