Man Charged in Connection With Dorchester Shooting

A trail of blood led officers into a Dorchester home, where more blood was found and two firearms were recovered

A Massachusetts man was arrested Monday for allegedly shooting a man in Dorchester, according to police.

Twenty-six-year-old Javohn Redrick of Brockton faces multiple charges, including assault with intent to murder and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.

Officials responded to a call of a man shot at 12:24 p.m. near the intersection of Dorchester Avenue and Centre Street. At the scene, they found a man suffering from non-life threatening injuries stemmed from a gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.

Police found a trail of blood that led them to a residence near the area. At the property, officials found more blood and recovered two firearms, according to Boston police.

Redrick is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court, according to the Boston Police Department. It is unclear if he has an attorney.
