Van Carrying Dozens of Animals Flips Over on Interstate

The accident took place on I-95 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Thursday afternoon

An SPCA van carring 50 animals rolled over on a New Hampshire interstate Thursday afternoon. 

The dogs and cats were headed to a shelter in Lewiston, Maine, when the wreck occurred, which slowed traffic for more than an hour, according to Seacoastonline.com.

The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries, according to police. 

The accident took place on I-95 in Portsmouth between Exits 5 and 6. 

None of the animals suffered any major injuries; they were all in cages at the time. 

The cause of the accident is not immediately known.
