Firefighters battled a 2-alarm blaze at a well-known restaurant in Cambridge's Harvard Square on Tuesday morning.

A huge response was reported at Toscano, an Italian restaurant at 52 Brattle St., with eight engines, five ladder trucks and multiple command vehicles.

The fire started around 10:30 a.m. and was knocked down within about 30 minutes. The blaze reportedly started on the first floor and then extended to the upper floors of the 3-story building.

    No one was injured.

It's unclear how the fire started.

Some streets in the area remain closed.

Toscano has locations in Harvard Square and Beacon Hill. There is no word yet on how the fire will affect the restaurant's operations.
