Candidates for a slew of statewide offices are going to be crisscrossing Massachusetts in a final push for votes.

Democratic candidate for governor Jay Gonzalez hit the campaign trail. On Saturday he greeted voters in Boston, Framingham, Brockton, Taunton, New Bedford, Falmouth and Quincy.

He shook hands and took photos at a campaign office rally in Brockton with incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

"I know I'm the little guy in this election," Gonzalez said.

Police released footage of a mother who said she accidentally left her 5-month-old in a car for half an hour in a Goodyear, Arizona, parking lot when she, her sister and other daughter went into the store. Officers are heard on camera saying it was about 99 degrees outside.

Polls show he's trailing Republican Gov. Charlie Baker by nearly 40 points, but he told supporters to forget about the numbers.

"Don't let anyone tell you this election's already been decided. The pundits and the polls have been way off base lately," Gonzalez said.

He also went after Baker's support for Warren's opponent in the Senate race, arguing that a vote for Geoff Diehl is a vote for President Trump's policies.

"By supporting Geoff Diehl, Charlie Baker is backing an anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ, anti-immigrant, pro-NRA agenda," he said.

On Sunday, Gonzalez has scheduled events in Pittsfield, Springfield, Worcester and Lowell.

Baker meanwhile stumped for votes in Springfield and Shrewsbury on Saturday.

Baker says he and Gonzalez disagree on one big thing: how to spend your tax dollars.

"We started with a big budget deficit. Now we have a surplus. We didn't raise taxes, we just came up with smarter, better ways to deliver services," he said.

With a 70 percent approval rating, Baker's the most popular governor in the country.

But like his opponent, he doesn't care about the polls.

"How many times have we said, 'The only poll that matters is the one on Election Day?'"

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Geoff Diehl joined supporters at rallies planned Saturday in Fitchburg and Worcester.
