Medical Marijuana Facility Ordered to Shut Down After Alleged Violations

The commission said several "dangerous violations" were found at Massachusetts Wellspring during inspections

The Cannabis Control Commission‏ has ordered a Massachusetts medical marijuana dispensary in Acton to temporarily shut down.

The commission made the announcement Friday regarding Mass Wellspring.

Officials found several violations, including sanitation, product labeling, waste disposal and security, that posed "an immediate or serious threat" during an unannounced inspection, according to a commission spokesperson.

The medical marijuana dispensary on Powdermill Road will stay closed until the CCC issues a final decision.

Mass Wellspring's website was down by Friday afternoon.

The commission said patients can visit the Cannabis Control Commission's website to find alternative dispensary locations or contact them at 617-701-8400.
