Nero, the K9 partner of fallen Yarmouth Police Sgt. Sean Gannon, visited Advanced Embroidery in Hyannis on Friday to receive a generous donation for the Yarmouth Police Department.

Accompanied by Peter McClelland, Nero's caretaker since he was released from the hospital, the pair received $10,000 thanks to the sale of "Gannon Strong" shirts. The $10,000 is designed to help take care of retired Police K9's on Cape Cod.

But the generosity didn't stop there. Advanced Embroidery donated an additional $10,000 to the Yarmouth Police Department, which will help to purchase equipment for the department such as a special camera system for K9 Officers and a training simulator.

Sgt. Gannon was killed on April 12 while executing a search warrant in Barnstable. Nero was shot during the incident as well, but continues to recover following his release from the hospital on April 18.
