Two Thrown From Car in West Haven Crash Following Police Chase

A driver crashed into a concrete wall after fleeing police trying to conduct a motor vehicle stop in West Haven, resulting in the road being shut down.

At about 3 a.m. Sunday, patrol officers noticed a vehicle headed north on Forest Road near Westfield street that didn't have its headlights on, so an officer turned around to stop the car. But the vehicle sped off and ultimately crashed into a concrete wall at the intersection with Alden Road.

There were four people in the car and two were thrown from the vehicle, police said.

All four people were conscious, but were taken to the hospital to be treated.

The road was shut down as police investigated.

The crash remains under investigation.
