A Stoneham, Massachusetts woman crashed into an ice cream shop on Main Street Saturday morning, according to the local police and fire departments.
Officials say the woman, 90, was in the area for a hair appointment and was searching for a parking space when the sun got in her eyes and she hit the storefront.
The Daily Scoop was damaged both internally and externally as a result of the crash, according to authorities, but the woman behind the wheel was not seriously injured. An employee who was in the shop sustained non-life threatening injuries.
"We're grateful that the store wasn't open for business because the extent of the damage occurred where patrons would normally be sitting," Stoneham Fire Chief Matthew Grafton said.
