    Car Crashes Into Home, Causes Gas Leak

    A car crashed into a home in Wellesley, Massachusetts, Thursday night, causing a gas leak at the home, police confirm.

    The incident happened at Cliff Road just after 11. The gas meter was struck in the crash. Police say the suspect crashed into the home and then fled.

    Residents smelled an odor of gas and vacated.

    Crews arrived, turned off services and made repairs until it was deemed safe for the residents to return.

    Officials say there was minor structural damage to the basement.

    Police did locate the suspect and say there may be criminal charges. They don't believe the driver was under the influence or that there was a medical issue.

    The investigation is ongoing.
