Car Hits 2 Motorcyclists, Killing 1 in Maine

One motorcyclist was killed and another was injured after a crash with a car in Maine.

State police said a driver crossed the center line on Route 4 in Turner, crashing into two motorcycles Friday afternoon.

One of the motorcyclists, 32-year-old Matthew Houle of Livermore, died at the scene.

Police said 31-year-old Ashley Hinkley, also of Livermore, was on the other bike. She was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with multpple injuries.

Authorities said 67-year-old Diane Boutin of Turner was driving the car, but they did not say whether any charges would be filed.

Houle's death is the 11th motorcycle fatality of the year in Maine, according to state police. It comes just one week after the driver of a pickup truck crashed into a group of motorcyclists, killing seven in Randolph, New Hampshire, not far from the Maine state line.
